Gensler’s San Francisco Architecture studio is an award-winning, international design practice committed to creating architecture that stimulates and inspires; an architecture that tells the story of place, of institutional and individual aspiration, and of synergy between the natural and built realms. We are searching for senior architectural designers (15+ years) with exceptional design skills, a portfolio of innovative design concepts, and an emphasis on built work.

 Responsibilities:
  • Design and plan complex architectural projects of varying types within the Community work sector 
  • Manage multiple aspects of client, project coordination, and general contractors including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape and civil consultants
  • Manage client relationships and team communication
  • Resolve complex technical and design issues
  • Maintain the project manual and specifications
  • Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews
  • Process submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, etc. during construction
  • Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project  

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Architecture or Design preferred, with a rigorous design education
  • 15+ years of relevant architecture and design experience, with a strong background designing multiple building typologies of varying scale
  • Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, and 3ds Max
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Outstanding graphic presentation skills
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituents
  • Proven ability to lead and direct design teams and projects
  • Conceptual designer and thinker
