CallisonRTKL seeks an Interior Designer/Architect to join its Workplace team located in Washington, DC. You will join a highly collaborative and creative team dedicated to design excellence and innovative problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be organized, detailed-oriented and a self-starting individual driven to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages furniture and interior fittings packages
• Develops interior architecture design concepts
• Prepares specifications and color boards
• Design and draws interior plans, elevations, and details
• Develops permit and working drawings, including technical detailing and interfacing with specifications department
• Works closely with intermediate and senior level staff, supporting design and technical tasks
• Participates in conceptual design development activities, including making modifications and assisting other designers in specific aspects of overall design
• Researches materials, codes/specifications as they relate to planning solutions including exiting and life safety and recommends appropriate selections
• Assists with coordination of fixture, furniture and equipment installation
• Assists in space planning and programming activities
• Develops presentations and 3D renderings and prepares construction documents
• Commits to learning about the field of architecture and incorporating new architecture and design knowkedge into day-to-day business practices
• May act as client interface and project leader throughout the project

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture or related design field
• 1-3 years of interior architecture design experience required
• Maintain communication with project team members
• Interact with other disciplines and clients in a manner that build productive relationships
• Experience with Revit, SketchUp and AutoCAD required
• Advanced knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
• LEED acreditation preferred
