Description
CallisonRTKL seeks a Project Architect to join its
Commercial Practice Group located in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate
will develop technical documentation for one or more projects under the
direct supervision of the senior architect, in a manner consistent
with firmwide standards for project delivery. The ideal candidate will
be a flexible, team-oriented individual with previous design and
documentation experience on mid-to-large scale retail, high-rise
residential and mixed-use projects.
Responsibilities

Works closely with the design leadership to develop constructible solutions

Ensures technical integrity of documents using knowledge of applicable code, life safety systems, standards

Prepares and/or reviews design and construction documents

Performs complex calculations and analytical tasks independently

Interfaces and coordinates with large consultant teams

Mentors junior staff and helps inform technical solutions to design challenge

Manage client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with project consultants

Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials

Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges

Maintain project manual and specifications

Experience in construction document preparation and field observation

Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture

Master’s degree preferred
-
Minimum 8 years architecture experience

Experience working on domestic and/or international mid-to-large scale retail, high-rise residential and mixed-use projects.

Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects

Must have advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite

LEED accreditation preferred

Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
